October 12, 2014 - PAC fun Fly at Clayburn Park. Cloudy with very light winds.

Henry and Isabel attended. Henry brought out a plane he had purchased from Gerry Boyd (VGMC) as a 0.15 size trainer for Josh to use. After they solved the problem of the engine "giving up the ghost" every time after taking off the glow igniter, Larry put in a test flight and then Josh made good use of it complete with inside loops. Josh, you have to make them larger, from level flight to 45 degrees. Maybe he is ready for a 0.35 size plane.

Paul had his new Barnstormer - yellow fuse and purple wings - and it flew very nicely. I still can't talk him into a Jamison.

Bob flew the repaired "Mr. Not R/C" putting in several complete P.A. flights.

I, and may the big boss forgive me, ran my Fox 0.35 in my Sig Super Chipmunk.

Peter from the Riverside Flyers (R/C) Club stopped by and joined in the banter of control line VS r/c.

Sorry to say not all was nice, a member of the public with a friend and 2 dogs off leash came to the park. (This is not an off leash park.) One of her dogs came running through the pits, snagging Bob's lines and yanking the plane around. When asked to keep the dog under control she became belligerent, abusive, and aggressive even challenging our right to be there and stating that we will never be there again. On their return from the walk the dog again ran through the pits. When Larry B. tried to talk to her, she again went into a tirade. For me, this spoiled the entire day.

Henry's report.

PAC Clayburn Funfly Report :
Despite the threat of "increasing humidity" - we had a reasonable turnout with perfect flying weather. Credit to Paul Bedford for the first man on the field at 11:00 a.m. Waiting for membership arrival which showed up at 12:15.
Paul flew his new purple  "Firecat" with the O.S. 25 LA.  This is an excellent model with great performance and of course the colour enhanced the flying substantially !
Bob & Larry Lewin were in attendance to enjoy the day with Larry working the ropes in soliciting new members.
Larry Bell arrived in time to assist our newest potential member "Josh" in testing out a new Gerry Boyd profile stunter "Airflow 1 " with a new Brodak "15".  Before the day was out Josh was doing wing-overs, loops, together with demonstrating his talent at "trimming the lawn" on takeoff from  Paul's "magic carpet".
A number of our members were unable to attend, including Dennis Matthews, Hube Start, Joe Yau, Jack Oster, and Barrie & Vivian Shandel.

Cheers, Henry/.
