PAC Christmas Banquet

  • 08 Dec 2018
  • 6:30 PM
  • Ricky’s Country Restaurant, Highway 10 and 192nd Street

This years guests were Adrian and Lorna D. from the VGMC, Denis and Vivian C. also with the VGMC and last - but not least - Lyn and Debbie M. As a bonus it was also their, Lyn and Deb"s anniversary. To explain, Lyn was one of the original members of PAC.

Missing were Patrick and his wife, Harold Y, and Arlene M.

We held a short meeting after dinner to elect a "new" executive to conform to the new societies act here in B.C. That took all of 2 minutes as all officers stood with no challengers.

Dennis M. held a quick auction in an effort to redistribute the R/C supplies of a retired modeler that Lyn knows. I came home with another kit I don't need and Lyn took home a gallon of fuel giving hope that we will see more of him this year.

As Kathy and I usually do something a little "off the cuff", (remember the embroidered TP?) nearing the end of the evening I read a poem.

"Twas the night before Christmas as I sat by the tree,
wondering what Santa would bring just for me,
Pushrods, balsa, handles and motors with pace,
Or a new laser cut kit, I thought with a grin on my face.
Suddenly I saw him, “Hi Santa” I said.
He snickered, “Good little modelers should be in their bed.”
“Oh, Santa forgive me, I know I’ve been caught,
But I was just so excited to see what you’ve brought,”
“Well, let’s take a look around this room where you work.”
He shook his head quickly, then turned with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear.
“You’ve got enough crap, I’ll see you next year!”

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all!
