Today was our club's regular fun fly at Clayburn Park, but it was raining! I was on the phone with Denis C. when I read that Barrie and Henry would be there by noon! - didn't quite believe them - so I went down to the field - nobody - then I went to Larry B's and was there when Barrie and Henry AND JACK pulled in. Larry B. phoned Denis. The rain quit and It ended up being a good day, especially socially.
Barrie got 3 flights on Miss BJ complete with problems on each engine run. Then guess what - it started raining again. Barrie and Henry packed it in and went for lunch leaving 2 kids playing in the rain and laughing the rest of the afternoon.
Denis C. was flying a P51 he bought from Bruce D. which was an early 1950s design and Denis thinks the plane was also built then, complete with a McCoy Red Head 29 for power. It has it's problems but flew very respectably.
We had 2 "guests" on the field today, Chris and Patrick. Each fly R/C but Pat appeared to be entertaining the thought of coming back to the control line "faithful". You know where we are.
Larry B. came out - after Barrie and Henry had left and got in 2 flights.
Smiles and chuckles were had by all. Larry L
