SUMMARY REPORT ON PITT MEADOWS AIRPORT(YPK) OPEN HOUSE & AIR SHOW -
SUNDAY, JULY 20TH Despite the occasional rain shower, the Pitt Meadows Open House & Air Show was clearly an unqualified success with more participants and activity than last year. The PAC Static and Flying Display received an excellent reception by the spectators and much credit is recognized particularly to: 1. Paul Bedford & Larry Lewin for securing the necessary arrangements
including the excellent location adjacent to the Helipad and the spectator
entrance. Luckily the military helicopter did come in prior to our display set-up. We also appreciated the presence of the Tim Horton's Van that furnished free coffee, hot chocolate and donuts to modelers and spectators alike! The presence of our Regional
MAAC Zone Director also did not go unnoticed! Notable people that we talked to were a teacher who asked if our club would be able to do a demonstration/display for her class this fall, a gentleman who used to fly combat, many people who had fathers who flew control line "back in the day", and some who did fly. It was great talking to all the people. Photos to come. Joe Yau made a short video |
